I Am… Kendall and Kylie? The two youngest Jenners may be following in the footsteps of, well, pretty much every other member of their family and getting their very own reality spinoff series!
We’re all for this. With the success of Caitlyn Jenner‘s new reality series I Am Cait, (as well as the continued success of a little show called Keeping Up With the Kardashians), are Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner next in line to get their own spinoff show? Gil Goldschein, who is the head of Bunim/Murray, the production company which handles all the Kardashian series, recently revealed that he is not only open to a Kendall/Kylie show, but he (like us) would actually love one!
“We would love the opportunity to do that show,” Gil said, speaking to The Hollywood Reporter. “There haven’t been any discussions, but if that were of interest to them, certainly I would hope that they would talk to us about that possibility,” he added.
Well, we’re ready whenever y’all are, sir. And though we’ve already got quite a few Jenners and Kardashians on our TV screens, Gil said that he doesn’t worry too much about over saturation. “It depends on who those characters are,” he explained. “We have our own weeding-out process, if you will, to really make sure that these people are invested for the long term because I don’t believe in one-offs. I believe in building brands. I’m not just thinking about season one.”
Gil also explained why he believes audiences have not tired of the Kardashian/Jenner clan, despite being on the air consistently since 2007. “They get it. They understand and they’re accessible and let the viewers in and they’re vulnerable,” he said. “There are good times and there are hard times. That’s what the audience recognizes, and that’s why it’s been so successful. As long as that continues, the show will continue to be relevant and resonate with its audience.”
A source close to the family, however, denies any actual deal in place for the girls. “There was never a deal for a Kendall-Kylie spinoff,” HollywoodLife has learned EXCLUSIVELY. “I remember that story floating around years ago and there was never any truth to it.”
Do you guys want to see Kendall and Kylie get their own series? Or do you think we’ve seen enough of this family as it is?
