So heartbreaking. A sweat-soaked little girl was rescued by police after being left alone in a hot van in New Jersey. One officer had to smash the window to get the poor two-year-old out safely.
A New Jersey officer came to the rescue of a young child who was left locked inside a hot minivan on July 30. Her mother was inside a Hackensack Costco shopping and decided to leave her two-year-old daughter behind. So horrible.
Yet another innocent child was rescued after being left in the blazing heat inside a locked vehicle and it was all caught on video. A Bergen County Sheriff’s officer smashed a van window to remove a young girl who was inside crying in her car seat, according to NBC. The officer estimated that the temperature inside the vehicle was 80 degrees.
You can see in the video local man, Rafael Rodriguez, assist the police by trying to get in through the window of the van. “I’m telling the girl, ‘Don’t cry, we’re gonna get you out.’ She was drenched in sweat and crying constantly,” he recounted to the outlet. Police started to arrive and smashed the window to get the child out.
Authorities reportedly charged the child’s mother, Chaeyoung Lim-Kim, with child endangerment, after she came out of the store. The police were holding the child and wiping sweat off of her when Chaeyoung came over pushing a grocery cart with another child with her.
As you can see in the video, the police officer is furious with her and yells at the mom,”You left her in the car!” The only response they got out of her was “Sorry, sorry,” but it wasn’t enough. The cop angrily told her, “No sorry, she could have died.”
The girl was taken to a hospital for evaluation and released to her father.
