Katy Perry, is that you? We barely recognized the ‘Dark Horse’ singer as she channeled iconic actress Elizabeth Taylor for ‘Harper’s Bazaar’s’ September issue. Get the details on her dramatic look, and let us know what you think!
Katy Perry, 30, is known for her constantly evolving, modern beauty looks — she practically made rainbow hair a trend singlehandedly, and she’s worn every shade out there. But in her latest shoot for Harper Bazaar’s ‘ICONS By Carine Roitfeld’ issue, the pop princess went retro in an Andy Warhol themed shoot where she posed as actress Elizabeth Taylor.
Ahead of the issue’s August 18th release, CoverGirl shared a sneak peek of the makeup look for their spokesmodel’s shoot to Instagram, saying: “My COVERGIRL is a cover girl! Check out this sneak peek of @katyperrylooking gorgeous in the September @harpersbazaarus — on stands soon!”
Of course Katy’s dramatic cat eye came courtesy of CoverGirl and makeup genius Tom Pecheux. To get her exaggerated cat eye, Tom used CoverGirl Intensify Me! Liquid Liner in Intense Black, and elongated her lashes for a wide-eyed look with The Super Size By LashBlast Mascara.
Pigmented blue shadow paint, bright pink lips and a retro wavy bob hairstyle completed Katy’s pop art shoot that isn’t exactly practical for everyday wear, but made for a cool tribute.

When asked why Liz Taylor is her icon, Katy told the magazine: “An icon transcends time. Liz was so fabulous and decadent and had a style that evolved with the years,” she said. “…and I’m sure I’ll be married just as many times!” she joked.
What do you think of Katy’s latest shoot, HollywoodLifers? Should she keep the Liz look?
