So sad. The investigation into the cause of Bobbi Kristina Brown’s death is being ramped up, and police are now treating the tragic case as a homicide, a new report claims. And they’re looking at the late 22-year-old’s boyfriend, Nick Gordon, as a suspect
Bobbi Kristina Brown was found unconscious in her bathtub six months ago, but the details surrounding what happened that night are still a mystery. Now that she’s passed away, though, police are investigating her death as a homicide, and are reportedly confident there was foul play involved.
Nick Gordon, 19, Bobbi’s longtime boyfriend, is considered a person of interest in the case, according to TMZ. The site reports that investigators have suspected foul play since they first responded to the 911 call and found Bobbi in the tub on Jan. 31. As previously reported, first responders discovered injuries on Bobbi’s body when they went to her home, and there was reportedly a history of violence between the couple.
On July 12, Nick was reportedly served with a $10 million lawsuit, filed by Bobbi’s family on June 24. The lawsuit accuses Nick of punching Bobbi in the face and controlling her finances after she was placed in a medically-induced coma, which happened after her admission to the hospital in January.
The 22-year-old’s best friend, Alex Reid, opened up about Nick’s alleged abuse on July 1. “I don’t know when he started hitting her,” Alex told E! News. “But I know of at least four occasions when he struck her. She also told me that he had tried to choke her once. She was definitely scared. She had some friends, but not many. One time, I remember she called me and we talked for three hours. She was hyperventilating. I could barely understand what she was saying because she was so distraught. When she could finally get the words out, she told me he had been physically abusive. He had hit her in the face and thrown her against a wall.”
After learning about the alleged abuse history of the pair, Bobbi’s family banned Nick from visiting Whitney Houston‘s ailing daughter while she was hospitalized and in hospice, but he’s still distraught over the news of her death. “Nick is on suicide watch,” an insider told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “He is out of control with regret and sadness. He keeps saying that if only [Bobbi Kristina] had heard his voice, things would have been different. She may have lived.”
Our thoughts remain with Bobbi’s family and friends during this tragic time.
