From Taylor Swift to Julianne Hough, a textured, short bob is totally trendy right now. Styling it the right way is key for looking cool and chic — read our expert tips below!
Stylist Riawna Capri, who works with Julianne Hough, Selena Gomez and many more celebs, is breaking down the tips and steps to get a gorgeous style with short hair.
“1. In order to style textured hair, it needs to be cut that way. A hair cut for textured hair is the foundation of the style.
2. Let the hair air dry and spray in a leave in conditioner.
3. Use a 1 inch iron and in sections, curl the entire head of hair in alternating horizontal and vertical directions. The more hair, the bigger curl, the less hair, the smaller the curl.
4. Spray in a beach spray and scrunch the hair.
5. Piece the hair out with a little bit of paste.”
Riawna likes the following products to get a textured look:
Start with Unite 7 Seconds Condition Leave In Detangler (www.unitehair.com). Use the Evo Salty Dog Cocktail Beach Spray (www.evohair.com) before scrunching. Finish with Unite Wicked Wax Finishing Pomade (www.unitehair.com).
Makeup With Beachy Hair
To keep with the beach theme, make sure your makeup is pretty and glowing. Choose a BB cream or tinted moisturizer over a heavy foundation and don’t forget the highlighter! We love Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow compact. If you prefer a liquid, try L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator, which celebrity makeup artist Sir John just applied on me very high on my cheekbones, just under the outer corner of my eyes — I was glowing all day!
