This is heartbreaking! Days after Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert announced their split, friends close to ‘The Voice’ star claim he’s devastated and still very much in love with the country darling.
Their marriage may be over, but it appears that the love hasn’t been lost between Blake Shelton, 39, and Miranda Lambert, 31. Although it was Blake who filed for divorce in Oklahoma on July 6, friends close to the country star claim that he’s still very much in love with the “Little Red Wagon” singer. So then, what went wrong?
Despite the fact that Miranda begged Blake for a trial separation, sources close to The Voice star claim that he had already done all he could for the marriage. However, that didn’t meant that he wasn’t still very much in love with her. “It came on very quickly,” a source tells People of the divorce. “It was very clear that things weren’t going to work out. So he decided to end it. He still loves her very much.” How sad!
Still, it appears that Blake’s not the only one torn up about the failed marriage. In her first public appearance since their divorce was announced, Miranda joined her bestie, Ashley Monroe on stage at The Basement in East Nashville to promote Ashley’s album release. The ladies snag a duet of “Has Anybody Ever Told You” and it appeared that Ash was trying to comfort her friend by putting her arm around her and giving her a sweet kiss on the forehead. As they stood on the stage, Miranda smiled as Ashley sang but it was apparent that Miranda was in need of a hug. Meanwhile, Blake was spotted tossing back a couple of drinks at a karaoke bar in New Hampshire on July 18 where he was performed Tracy Byrd’s classic, “I’m From The Country.” Although it doesn’t really go hand-in-hand with a divorce celebration, there is this line from the song: “And when the beds get full we can sleep in the hay. We’re from the country and we like it that way.” Well, we guess that’s one way to commemorate the end of a marriage.
Speaking of their relationship, it appears that cheating allegations may not have been the couple’s only problem. To Miranda, Blake’s hit role on the show The Voice was a continuous source of conflict in the marriage, TMZ reports, and since the “Sangria” singer had to spend so much time in Los Angeles to work, they weren’t able to spend as much time together as she hoped. How terrible. Blake and Miranda are both country superstars, and their careers are on fire right now. But it’s hard to make a relationship work when you can’t be together very often. We feel for them.
