The Philippines government is reportedly keeping a hold on Chris Brown — and won’t even let him leave the country! After performing on July 21, the singer was blocked from heading out on July 22 — find out why.
Chris Brown, 26, may need to start shacking up in the Philippines! The “Loyal” singer is allegedly being held by the foreign country’s government, and it’s all because of something that happened way back on New Year’s Eve. Here’s the scoop.
The 26-year-old was reportedly supposed to play a Dec. 31 show in the Philippines, but never showed up, according to TMZ. Those who promoted the concert were then allegedly granted an order that allowed them to ban Chris from leaving the country when he came back on July 21, so they could get the money they claim he owes them.
Once this story broke, Chris took to Twitter to clear things up a bit. And while he does stay the whole thing is a ‘misunderstanding,’ he also doesn’t deny anything. “Don’t believe everything you read,” he wrote. “It’s a misunderstanding between Phil Casey and the promoters. Hopefully this will be resolved shortly.” Chris’ rep also confirmed to HollywoodLife.com that the situation “was a misunderstanding that has since been cleared up. Chris leaves tomorrow for Hong Kong to continue his planned performances.”
Sadly, Chris just can’t seem to avoid SOME sort of controversy, right?! Well, he sure knows it, and even took to Instagram to rant about his troubled life.
“When u tired of the f***ing devil ruining your life and u hear God speak for the first time. No one knows what I deal with on a day to day,” he wrote. “The average man wouldn’t hesitate to blow his f***ing brains out but that’s the cowards way out… Most won’t understand the genius and beauty in change and learning and the people who have devilish intentions will win in the short term. My soul will always be pure heart. What’s on the surface always looks like one big party but inside there is a little boy looking for help and guidance. People say ‘be a man.’ Yeah, that’s right but it doesn’t take away any pain you really go through. I just wanna stay out the way and do music. Most importantly and a great father. I don’t have any more patience for anything that will cause me to self destruct!”
Let’s hope this little incident doesn’t lead him to do that again! HollywoodLifers, do you think Chris should be banned from leaving the Philippines?
