Not only did Anne Hathaway go see the hilarious and brilliant ‘Trainwreck,’ but she even took a moment to call out Amy Schumer for throwing shade her way in one scene. Wait until you see what she said!
Anne Hathaway, 32, may be known as one of the best young actresses of our generation, but the good news is she still has a sense of humor. After seeing herself totally dissed in Amy Schumer‘s Trainwreck, the Oscar-winning actress took to Instagram to let Amy know her thoughts on the film — and the insult she inspired!
For those of you who haven’t seen Trainwreck, and those of you who just need a refresher, there is one scene in particular in which Amy slams Bill Hader‘s character for carrying his trophy around after being honored for his work. She tells him that he’s “acting like Anne Hathaway” on Oscar night, and although it’s a funny moment it must have been slightly awkward for Ms. Hathaway as she sat in the theater watching the film. Or, you know. not at all!
“Dear @AmySchumer, Don’t pretend like when you win your Oscar — which you could for your brilliant and refreshing writing and/or acting in @TrainwreckMovie — you won’t tote it around to every Oscar party you go to,” Anne wrote, captioning a photo of her ticket stub from Trainwreck. The best part? She ended it with, “Way to slay, Annie.”
So, not only was Anne not upset by Amy’s joke, but she thinks the writer and star of the super funny comedy is due for an Oscar herself. Incredible!
In other news, where the heck did Anne Hathaway get to see a movie in theaters for just $9.75? Do movie stars get a discount or something?
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers — Was Anne’s response hilarious or kind of rude? Do you think she was offended or she found the whole thing funny? Comment below with your thoughts!
