How horrible. The wife of former NFL player, Buster Barnett, was reportedly shot and killed in a horrific murder-suicide by the alleged mistress of the ex-football star, after being abducted on July 15.

This is so awful. The mistress of Buster Barnett, 56, reportedly abducted the former Buffalo Bills player’s wife, Sandra Barnett, 58, on July 15, and fatally shot her before taking her own life. Lisa Brown, 49, who reportedly had a three-year affair with Buster, killed the schoolteacher after leading police on an extensive highway chase all the way from Georgia into Alabama.

Sandra was on the phone with a friend when she was abducted from her home in Ellenwood, Ga., according to 11 Alive News. Lisa reportedly took Sandra at gunpoint and forced her into an SUV owned by Buster, driving it all the way towards the Alabama border. Georgia Police were chasing Lisa for miles down Interstate 20 as she refused to stop for them, and Alabama State troopers became involved after she crossed state lines. When the car suddenly stopped, police say that Lisa shot Sandra and then turned the gun on herself.

Sandra was a beloved special needs teacher at McNair Middle School for more than two decades, remembered for her “bubbly, happy spirit,” according to the outlet. Lisa had reportedly been carrying on a three-year affair with Buster, who played on the Buffalo Bills in the 1980s. The kidnapping was reportedly sparked by Lisa’s anger about the Barnett’s going on a family trip together, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. A friend allegedly heard the nasty conversation between Lisa and Sandra over the phone, while another witness claims they saw the SUV drive quickly away.

This is not Lisa’s first run-in with the law. Lisa, who was a schoolteacher in Atlanta until 2013, was on probation for kidnapping her daughter out of Texas after she lost custody of her.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Barnett family and friends during this difficult time.
