Ariana Grande ‘hates’ this country…or does she? At her Tampa, FL concert on July 16, the pop princess attempted to smooth over #donutgate once again with a very pro-USA announcement. WATCH what she told her fans!
Ariana Grande, 22, is still wading through the sticky glaze of the year’s sweetest scandal, AKA Donutgate 2015. She’s apologized multiple times for her gross donut-licking antics and anti-American comments, but it’s not going to blow over that easily. Still, the “Break Free” singer is trying her best to, er, break free of this ordeal. As you can see in this video, Ari is determined for her Honeymoon Tour to be just that: a love letter to her fans!
In between the normal gush-y crowd talk, Ariana made a very pointed reference to the past few weeks: “I’m so grateful to be performing in the USA…” she told the excited crowd, “…The greatest country in the world!!! I love you guys so much!” Obviously, this is a huge 180 from her comments on July 4: “What the f–k is that? I hate Americans. I hate America.” (We won’t even dwell on the irony of her saying such things on INDEPENDENCE DAY, arguably the most patriotic day of the year). You hate us, you love us — what’s it going to be, Ari?!
Is The Donut Shop Owner Pressing Charges Against Ariana Grande?
As HollywoodLife recently reported, when asked if Wolfee Donuts owner Joe Marin is pressing charges, the Lake Elsinore Police Department referred us to their July 13 statement: “The owner of Wolfee donuts declined to press charges against Ms. Grande and this incident was documented to assist the Department of Environmental Health only. Any questions regarding this incident can be directed to the Department of Environmental Health.” However, Marin told us that he “is pressing charges” against Ariana, since the donuts that she licked were accidentally sold to other customers. He spoke to an attorney on July 13, who told him that he definitely has a case against the singer. We’ll see!
HollywoodLifers, do you think Ariana was being honest at her Florida concert?
