‘The View’ has cut Nicolle Wallace from the daytime talk show after just one season, and a new report claims that she was fired because she wasn’t familiar enough with pop culture, including the Kardashians.
Nicolle Wallace, 43, won’t be returning to The View’s roundtable next season. The news of Nicole’s departure was announced on July 15. The former communications chief for George W. Bush was reportedly axed because she wasn’t up to speed on pop culture and celebrities like the Kardashians!
The View is revamping its Hot Topics table big time. Just a little over a week after Rosie Perez’s exit from The View was announced, news broke that Nicolle would also not be returning next season. Producers believed Nicolle was “not particularly well-versed on celebrities and things pop culture,” according to our sister site Deadline. Back in Oct. 2014, Nicolle stunned her co-hosts when she revealed she didn’t keep up with the Kardashians — she didn’t know that Kim Kardashian, 34, and Kris Humphries, 30, had been married!
Nicolle also didn’t disagree with the other co-hosts enough on political issues. For example, new co-hostRaven-Symone, 29, and guest co-host Candace Cameron-Bure, 39, recently got into a heated discussion over an Oregon bakery’s refusal to make a wedding cake for a lesbian couple. That’s the kind of back-and-forth debate that producers apparently wanted Nicolle to be a part of.
The network has asked Nicolle to appear on the show next season from time to time, according to our sister site Variety. However, the 43-year-old was hurt that ABC did not ask her to return full-time next year. HollywoodLife.com has reached out for comment.
‘The View’: Co-Host Shake-Up
The next season of The View is going to be full of new faces. In addition to Rosie Perez and Nicole, Rosie O’Donnell, 53, announced she was leaving the show in Feb. 2015. Former Disney star Raven-Symone was officially named a new co-host in June 2015.
A report circulated on July 13 that former co-host Sherri Shepherd would be returning to the show part-time. Sherri left the show in Aug. 2014. The new gig would be a rotation between Sherri, Candace, fashion designer Stacey London, 46, and actress Molly Sims, 42,
