The Kardashian-Jenner clan will reunite for a celebration when Caitlyn Jenner accepts the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs on July 15 — with the exception of one kid: Rob Kardashian.
As Caitlyn Jenner, 65, readies up be honored at the annual sports ceremony, her many children (and former stepchildren!) are planning to come out and show their support. From Brody Jenner, 31, to Kim Kardashian, 34, the whole crew will be right by Cait’s side. Well, besides Rob Kardashian. A source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY why the troubled 28-year-old won’t be attending the event.
“Rob isn’t going to join the rest of the family at the ESPY awards to support Caitlyn. He’s just too caught up in his own world to pull himself together and show up,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “He says no way is he going to deal with all that craziness.”
For the reclusive reality star, public appearances are very rare these days. The last time we saw Rob out and about was when he was photographed taking a late night fast food run to In-N-Out on June 22. The main reason he doesn’t care to handle the hubbub of a major media event? He isn’t ready to face the cameras again.
“He’s depressed and embarrassed about how he looks as well,” our insider explains. “He also hasn’t even talked to Caitlyn that much since the transition Rob hasn’t gone to a single event in a year — not even Kim’s wedding — so he’s not going to start tonight. He will probably post a supportive tweet but that’s about it.”
Well, if Rob needs company watching Caitlyn win big from home, he can call his mom, Kris Jenner, 59, to come over — because she won’t be there either. However, unlike her son, the world-famous momager’s absence is not of her own accord.
Kris hasn’t taken the diss sitting down. She is actually furious over the snub. “She would have like to have been invited,” a friend of Kris tells us. “She’s spent nearly half of her life with Caitlyn, loving one another, raising children, making a lifetime of memories and this is the treatment Kris is getting. Shame on Cait. She needs to stop being such a diva.”
