Hillary Clinton does NOT agree with Donald Trump’s comments on Mexican immigrants…and she’s publicly letting him know it! The Democratic presidential hopeful spoke to the National Council Of La Raza on July 13, and fired back at Trump in an explosive speech. Watch here.
Hillary Clinton, 67, and Donald Trump, 69, don’t even know if they’ll be going head-to-head in the 2016 presidential race yet, but they’re already going at one another as if that’s the case! The Apprentice host has gotten tons of criticism and backlash for his anti-Mexican remarks, and on July 13, Hillary fired back with her own response. Watch her rant here!
“It was appalling to hear Donald Trump describe immigrants as drug dealers, rapists and criminals,” she said while addressing the National Council of La Raza. “He’s talking about people you and I know, isn’t he? He’s talking about people who love this country, work hard and want nothing more than a chance to build a better life for themselves and their children. And when people and businesses everywhere rejected his hateful comments, did he apologize? No. He doubled down. It’s shameful and no one should stand for it. So, I have just one word for Mr. Trump: Basta! Enough!”
Of course, Donald wasn’t just going to let that one go! Hours after Hillary delivered her speech, he released a statement of his own, saying that his competitor was “knowingly putting out lies,” and that his comments were made about the country of Mexico, not the immigrants themselves.
“I am honored, however, that she is attacking me instead of Jeb Bush,” he said, referring to another Republican hopeful. “Obviously she knows that Jeb is no longer her real competition. The last person she wants to face is Donald Trump.”
Hillary’s explosive speech didn’t come out of nowhere, though — he actually had a lot to say about her just last week…and the attacks were pretty personal. “Hillary Clinton was the worst Secretary of State in then history of the United States,” he said. “There’s never been a Secretary of State as bad as Hillary. The world blew up around us. We lost everything, including all relationships. There wasn’t one good thing that came out of that administration or her being Secretary of State.”
OUCH! Just a little harsh, no?! Tell us, HollywoodLifers: Whose side are you on in this debate?!
