No one is really ever gone from Mystic Falls, right? Well, the cast of ‘The Vampire Diaries’ sat down for interviews at Comic-Con this weekend and revealed they’re actually not sure if Nina Dobrev’s gone for good!
We all know that Damon can’t live without Elena, so in Ian Somerhalder‘s mind, Elena is just napping in a coffin. Ian sat down with his TVD costars, Kat Graham, Candice Accola, Paul Wesley and Michael Malarkey and gave fans a little bit of hope that Nina Dobrev could actually be back at some point.
“She’s still there, dude. She’s in a casket. She’s having a nap,” Ian explained to MTV in San Diego this weekend. Paul of course chimed in, adding that on this show people “die and come back,” then compared it to “Jesus. Well, okay then!
Candice AKA the other half of Steroline, brought it back to a serious note, saying that the way she left was perfect for TVD. “I think that’s what’s fun about this series,” she said. “You never know when characters are going to leave, you never know when they’re going to come back. That’s been a constant for six seasons, now. So the fact that, for such a big departure, that it is left open-ended, is really true to the show.”
Leave it to Enzo, I mean Michael, to add a little more insight. “The the way it’s been done, she’s very much a presence in season seven,” he added. We can assume that will mean the downfall of Damon.
‘Old F–king Damon’ Is Back
“It’s the old f–king Damon… sexy volatile fun dangerous,” Ian said during the panel. “All that sh-t you guys fell in love with, I’m bringing it back.” Creator Julie Pelc also added that this season will still have “a really intense core of romance… Damon has put the love of his life away.”
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Do you want Nina back? Do you think Damon can survive without Elena? Let us know!
