‘No shade’ from Demi Lovato! The ‘Cool For The Summer’ singer denied dissing Ariana Grande during her MLB All-Star performance when she chose to sing ‘Made In The USA’ — right after Ari made anti-America remarks before dropping out of the concert. See her response here!
Demi Lovato, 22, was feeling patriotic during her MLB All-Star performance on July 11, choosing to perform the classic song, “Made In The USA.” However, fans were quick to think that Demi’s song choice was taking a dig at fellow pop star, Ariana Grande, 22, who was recently caught on tape saying, “I hate America.” Demi, who replaced Ariana at the event after she pulled out, is furious over the diss rumors, and is putting haters in their place!
Don’t mess with Demi. The former Disney star is not at all pleased with fans accusing her of throwing shade at the “Love Me He Harder” singer. After some fans speculated Demi was dissing Ari by showing her American pride, Demi was quick to fire back. “Didn’t get to sing Made in the USA on the 4th because I was singing #COOLFORTHESUMMER. No shade — stop the bulls–t,” Demi wrote on Twitter after the concert.
She also quoted her exact words from the concert before she sang the song. “I know it’s a little late but I didn’t get to sing this song on the fourth,” Demi tweeted, along with: “ALSO – I ALWAYS ask that when I sing a song. Can’t y’all let a girl shine for one night? Smh.” During the concert, Demi rocked white denim shorts and a white denim jacket combo paired with Woodys Barcelona sunglasses.
Good for Demi for setting the record straight. After Ariana was caught on tape licking donuts and uttering the words, “I hate America,” it seems like some fans were misinterpreting Demi’s intentions. She just wanted to show her American pride! Ariana has even apologized twice for the incident, yet fans still can’t seem to let it go.
While many think Ari cancelled her show over the donut scandal known as “Donut-Gate,” she actually pulled out of the concert due to last minute emergency oral surgery. There’s no bad blood between the talented stars, which is an incredible relief.
