It’s been 11 years in the making, but Ryan Reynolds’ ‘Deadpool’ has finally arrived. The first trailer for the R-rated superhero flick was released at Comic-Con on July 11, and it’s insanely awesome. WATCH it here!
They say all good things come to those that wait, and we’ve been teased with the idea of Ryan Reynolds, 38, playing Deadpool in the X-Men spinoff for quite some time — but that wait is finally over. It’s here. The first trailer for Deadpool movie has arrived, and it doesn’t disappoint in the slightest! Watch it and be thrilled!
To catch you up to speed, Deadpool is a superhero whose real name is Wade Wilson. He’s a former Special Forces op, who goes through a science experiment and ends up with healing powers. The R-rated trailer shows how Wilson becomes Deadpool. We’re then treated to a number of quips from the lead character, who has a wicked sense of humor, as he seeks vengeance on those who wronged him.
Ryan appeared in the 2009 flick X-Men Origins: Wolverine very briefly, and the promise of a Deadpool movie has always been on the cards. And here it is! Speaking at a panel at Comic-Con on July 11, Ryan and the movie’s director, Tim Miller, introduced the trailer. Ryan also revealed that he was pleased the film would be a faithful comic book interpretation.
“[It’s] the most faithful adaptation of a comic book to a movie I’ve ever seen,” Ryan said about the movie, according to Variety. “I’ve only ever done one other proper—actually not proper—superhero movie,” he added, poking fun at Green Lantern. “For one I think it’s an absolute miracle that a studio let us make Deadpool, let alone a Rated-R Deadpool.”
Despite having a trailer to salivate over, we’re still going to have to wait until February 12, 2016 for its release. Boo!
