Is ‘Veronica Mars’ getting ready for a comeback? Show creator Rob Thomas dropped some very tantalizing hints about discussions he’s had with Kristen Bell and the possibility of bringing back America’s favorite pixie-sized PI.
Kristen Bell, 34, just can’t seem to let it go when it comes to playing her first breakout role in Veronica Mars. While fans may have thought they’d seen the last of the teenage detective in the 2014 movie adaptation, series creator Rob Thomas had some interesting things to say at the San Diego Comic-Con on July 10 — talking about a possible return for his most famous character. Read on to get the details on how Veronica might make yet another comeback to the small screen!
While at Comic-Con to discuss his current CW show iZombie on July 10, Veronica Mars creator Rob did discuss the possibility that his beloved teen girl detective show could make a comeback with its original star, Kristen.
It would be a “short-run series” Rob told TVLine. However, he then admitted that a possible revival would be many years away. He explained that while he has talked to Kristen about the idea (and she is open to it!), he has not yet started writing the project. When Kristen started on that show, she was a teenager — and now it sounds like she may be a grandmother before she’s done playing her beloved character!
Of course it’s not as if Kristen’s post-VM life hasn’t been very exciting on its own. On December 19, she welcomed a baby girl with her husband Dax Shepard, 40, and of course she was the star of the Disney mega-hit Frozen.
The animated movie was such a hit, that Kristin collaborated with her Frozen co-star Idina Menzel, 44, on a brand new song called “Making Today a Perfect Day”. It’s part of a short called Frozen Fever which made its debut before Disney’s live-action Cinderella film in theaters.
