What a well deserved celebration! After their big win in the FIFA World Cup on July 5, the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team have had a number of celebrations thrown for them starting with a parade in Los Angeles, Calif. and now in New York City. In NYC, the winning ladies received a huge ticker-tape parade and HollywoodLife.com has all the pictures for your viewing pleasure!
After beating Japan 5-2 in the world cup, the team secured the third trophy for the United States. Since then a rally was hosted for the women’s soccer team in Los Angeles, they were invited to the White House, and now a ticker-tape parade in NYC! This is such a huge honor and a great moment in the history of sports because the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team is the first female sports team to receive a ride down the city’s famed Canyon of Heroes.
The team will travel through Manhattan on some amazing floats, the route starts at Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House near Broadway and Battery Place. The parade will travel north on Broadway to Worth Street, Lafayette Street and end at City Hall where Mayor Bill de Blasio will talk to the team and all the attendees. What an exciting time for the U.S. national women’s soccer team! As you can see, the parade brought out thousands of fans for the big celebration. Even if you’re not physically present at the parade, you can still celebrate at home or even with co-workers at the office!
