Creepy creep alert! Cameron Monaghan will revive his young Joker in season two of ‘Gotham’– and he’s teasing his return to the series with a super eery photo!
The Joker (Cameron Monaghan) is back, and it’s no laughing matter. After a bone-chilling appearance on season 1 of Gotham, we’ve now got our first look at his triumphant (and terrifying) return to the series. Cameron posted a photo of his Joker (or, as he’s known in his younger years, Jerome), and from the looks of it, we’re going to be delving way deeper into the iconic character’s past– and into the roots of that nightmare-inducing laugh!
“#Gotham,” Cameron captioned the spook-tastic pic of himself as Jerome. The photo, which he posted to Instagram on July 8, is in black and white (duh), and of course, features the Joker’s smile, complete with that trademarked twist. He stands in front of a white wall, adorned with height measurements, indicating that he is awaiting a mugshot.
Hm, what could the Joker possibly have done to land himself in jail?
Anyways, back to that laugh which made quite the splash in Jerome’s season one appearance. Not surprisingly, Cameron spent a ton of time mastering that horrid howling– and the preparation nearly got himself in trouble! “I’m surprised my neighbors didn’t call the cops on me because I spent those weeks [preparing] constantly laughing and staring at myself in the mirror,” said Cameron, speaking to Comic Book Resources. “Even if I was driving in my car to get food or something, I was repeating the monologue. I allowed myself to be a crazy person.”
Well, we can say it definitely paid off, and judging by this pic, he has truly owned his “crazy person” by now– and we couldn’t be more excited. Check out his Instagram below!
