Candace Cameron Bure and Raven Symone went head-to-head on the July 7 episode of ‘The View,’ when they argued over a bakery’s refusal to bake a cake for a lesbian wedding. Things got pretty intense between the two child stars. Watch the video here!

Candace Cameron Bure, who served a guest co-host during the “Hot Topics” segment on the July 7 episode of The View, got into a very heated argument with co-host Raven Symone while discussing an Oregon bakery’s decision to refuse service to a lesbian couple. The bakery refused to bake a cake for a lesbian wedding, and the owners were asked to pay the couple $135,000.

“The Oregon law bars businesses from discriminating against sexual orientation, race, disability, age or religion,” Raven, 29, argued, “and to me, it’s the same exact thing that they did back in the day saying that black people couldn’t do certain things because it’s my ‘religious belief.'”

Fuller House‘s Candace, 39, then accused Raven of comparing apples to oranges. “I don’t think this is discrimination at all. This is about freedom of association,” she said. “It’s about constitutional rights. It’s about First Amendment rights. We do have the right to still choose who we associate with.”

“[The bakery] didn’t refuse to bake the cake because of [the couple’s] sexual orientation,” she continued. “In fact, they baked cakes for them previously. They had a problem with the actual ceremony because that — the ceremony — is what conflicted with their religious beliefs. They are saying that they stand for marriage between a man and a woman.”

But as Candace kept going, Raven cut her off by saying, “I refuse to associate with you right now.” Co-host Whoopi Goldberg sided with Raven and asked, “Were [the bakers] invited to the wedding?”

“No,” Candace replied, “But it was to provide a service.”
