As if we needed another reason to love Johnny Depp. The actor showed off his softer side when he surprised sick children in a hospital dressed up as one of his most beloved characters — Captain Jack Sparrow.
Johnny Depp, 52, took a children’s hospital by storm and it was amazing. The actor made a surprise appearance at Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in Brisbane, Queensland. He kept his trip under wraps, but it didn’t take long for Johnny’s good deed to hit social media.
Captain Jack Sparrow has a heart of gold! Johnny took a break from filming the scenes of Pirates Of The Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales, to lift the spirits of sick children in a hospital. The actor was spotted leaving the Black earl for a more easier form of transportation — the black helicopter.
Johnny showed up dressed from head to toe in full Capt. Jack Sparrow apparel. He was pictured greeting and hugging a handful of sick children. The actor made sure to play to character’s part to a T, and was photographed sitting bedside to some of the kids who were too sick to stand. How amazing!
One patient’s mother, Ms Bennett, told ABC Australia, “He [Johnny] was going from room to room seeing all the kids who couldn’t get out of bed. We waited out of the front of one of the rooms, and he came up to us and had a really good chat to Max. He was taking his time to make sure he spoke to each and every one of them.”
Ms. Bennett went on to say, “It was really beautiful. Everyone kept on trying to move him on, but he kept on coming back. He came on the condition that he wasn’t pushed along and crowded by adults and he could spend as much time as he wanted with the kids. He was here for the kids.”
