Week after week, I watch ‘The Bachelorette’ and week after week I wonder — why do men come on the show if they can’t handle a woman dating other men? That’s the premise, dude!
Here we go again. It seems like the theme on Kaitlyn Bristowe‘s season of The Bachelorette is jealousy, which to be honest, if you’re a jealous person, don’t come on the show. This week, Shawn Booth totally took it like an adult when Kaitlyn told him that she slept with Nick Viall. Of course, after sleeping on it, he went all drama king with the whole thing.
First he told Kaitlyn he’d move past it; then he interrupted the rose ceremony; then he showed up at Nick’s room. Shawn, it’s time to let it go. Here’s the thing — it’s never easy seeing the person you love with someone else, and it’s probably even worse knowing they had sex, but what exactly did he think was going to happen when the girl you’re dating is also dating a ton of other men?
I give Kaitlyn a lot of credit for even telling Shawn to begin with. She obviously really likes him and is considering really being with him at the end, since she wanted to tell him before it came out later on. Total props to her — but she really didn’t have to. It’s her business what she does which each guy and when. Sure, it wasn’t the greatest timing but sex is a normal part of dating someone for most and a physical connection is important.
As for Shawn, if he can move past it and put it behind him, great. But if not — if he’s going to continue to ask for reassurance, attack Nick, and then complain about him to Kaitlyn, she should let him go. It’s insane that he spends half (if not more) of their one-on-one time focusing on another guy.
Do you guys agree with me? Are you Team Nick or Team Shawn? Let me know!
