This is litt-er-ally, the best thing ever (you better have read that in your best Chris Traeger impression). In honor of America, there was a most adorable ‘Parks and Recreation’ reunion– and it will have you missing Pawnee big time.
Parks and Recreation wrapped for good in February, but it looks as though the cast is still as close as ever. Specifically, Amy Poehler, Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe, all of whom spent July 4th together– and we’ve got the absolutely heartwarming pic to prove it. Ugh, we’re gonna need some waffles to fill this Parks hole in our hearts.
Ann, you sweet newborn sophisticated mermaid dolphin baby. Yup, Ms. Perkins got together with her BFF Leslie Knope and baby daddy Chris Treager to celebrate America’s birthday on July 4, and it was just heavenly. Both Rashida and Rob posted the pic on Instagram (Amy, being the rebel that she is, does not have social media. Ugh, she’s so cool). Rashid captioned the pic, “Ann, Chris & Leslie reunited. Happy Fourth everyone!”
Beyond the perfection, though, we have to say the adorable picture has made us greedy for a real life Parks reunion– hello, how are April (Aubrey Plaza) and Andy (Chris Pratt) doing as parents? Has their baby made April hate everything a little less? (God, we hope not.)
Well, executive producer, Mike Schur, has sorta given us hope! “Never say never,” he told E! News. Referencing all those crazy flash forwards in the finale, Mike said, “You know it’s crazy but it never occurred to me that the finale seemed to be pointing in that direction! I love the idea of a reunion, because I love this group of people so much, but the reality is that the most likely scenario that this entire group of people will ever be together at the same time in the same place is that they’ll all be nominated for Oscars. They all remain friends…I don’t think we’ll ever not be friends because it was a really special time, it’s a really special group of people.”
We could not agree more, obviously. For now, though, we will definitely accept this cute pic of the former costars, while we hum “Bye, Bye Lil’ Sebastian” for the rest of the day.
Would you want a real Parks and Rec reunion?
