What a match! After intense back and forth between Serena Williams and Heather Watson on July 3 at Wimbledon, it was Serena Williams who came out on top. Who else is on the edge of their seats?
The Serena Williams, 33, and Heather Watson, 23, face-off was one of the most incredible matches of tennis we’ve ever seen. These two ladies were relentless as they battled it out on the court at Wimbledon on July 3. When it looked like the unseeded Heather would beat the no. 1 seed, Serena came roaring back in the final set and beat Heather 7-5! Serena will now face her sister, Venus Williams, 35, in the next round!
For a minute there, it looked like Serena was going to lose! She won the first set 6-2, but then Heather really started to play. Heather bested Serena 6-4 in the second round and was up 3-0 in the final set. As exhausted as she was, Serena wasn’t ready to lose.
She fought back hard usurped Heather’s lead right out from under her. She beat Heather 7-5 in the final set to earn her rightful spot in the fourth round. Serena’s going to have her work cut out for her in the next round — she’s playing against her own sister? We are not emotionally ready for that.
Serena, as well as her sister, are always the girls to watch for at Wimbledon each and every year. In the second round of play on June 29, Serena went head-to-head with Hungary’s Timea Babos. The incredible game was a sight to be seen.
Serena proved to be completely lethal on the court; she beat Timea in just 59 minutes. As much as Timea tried to compete, she was just no match for Serena.
