A clash of the titans! After making racist comments about Mexican immigrants, Donald Trump’s business relationships have been dropping like flies. First, with NBC. And now, with Macy’s. In typical Trump fashion, he isn’t keeping quiet about it.
Donald Trump, 69, just can’t be put in his place. Even after corporate giants like NBC and Macy’s have severed ties with him for generalizing Mexicans as “rapists,” the (now-former) Celebrity Apprentice star isn’t backing down without a fight. In fact, he’s lashed out on social media with one very heated Instagram post. Check it out here!
The King of the Comb Over retaliated against Macy’s in his own special way. Donald uploaded the following message to social media, telling his 208k followers:
I have decided to terminate my relationship with Macy’s because of the pressure being put on them by outside sources. While selling Trump ties and shirts at Macy’s is a small business in terms of dollar volume, my principles are far more important and therefore much more valuable. I have never been happy about the fact that my shirts are made in China, and should I start a new product line somewhere in the future, I would insist that they are made in America. I am not beholden to anyone and this includes NBC and Macy’s. Clearly, NBC and Macy’s support illegal immigration, which is totally detrimental to the fabric of our once great country.
Too bad Macy’s beat you to the punch, Trump! The real estate tycoon’s “termination” came hours after the retail giant yelled out, “You’re fired!” first. “In light of statements made by Donald Trump, which are inconsistent with Macy’s values, we have decided to discontinue our business relationship with Mr. Trump and will phase-out the Trump menswear collection, which has been sold at Macy’s since 2004. Macy’s is a company that stands for diversity and inclusion,” a statement from Macy’s said, released on July 1.
Obviously, this is the consequence for the Donald’s previous racist rant made on June 30, declaring: “[Mexico is] sending people that have lots of problems, and they are bringing those problems to us. They are bringing drugs, and bringing crime, and their rapists.” Um, no. Not cool.
“We have no tolerance for discrimination in any form. We welcome all customers, and respect for the dignity of all people is a cornerstone of our culture,” the statement continued. “We are disappointed and distressed by recent remarks about immigrants from Mexico. We do not believe the disparaging characterizations portray an accurate picture of the many Mexicans, Mexican Americans and Latinos who have made so many valuable contributions to the success of our nation.” Well said!
