It’s a Tuesday night, but it’s still ‘Teen Wolf’ time! The second half of the show’s season five premiere aired June 30, and it was straight-up crazy! Season five is going to be one wild ride.
Double the premiere, double the fun! A special episode of Teen Wolf aired on June 30, and things got even more complicated and confusing. Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) became highly suspicious of Theo (Cody Christian), Liam was finally completely honest with Mason (Khylin Rhambo), Parrish (Ryan Kelley) and Lydia (Holland Roden) got their flirt on and another villain was possibly revealed!
Wait, is this Scream? No, it’s Teen Wolf. The episode opened up with a girl having some serious trouble getting to sleep. There was a terrible storm outside so that didn’t help. When she tried to close the skylight, someone pulled her chair out from under her. The next morning, Tracy tried to tell Mrs. Martin about it, who thought it was all just a dream. As Tracy got up to leave, she started coughing. She threw up gross black goo and feathers. Nasty.
Scott was still learning under Deaton’s tutelage at his office. Aw! Scott would make the cutest vet. It would be like Cozy with Posey on a daily basis! They were also investigation those strange talons from that mystery wolf/whatever. Apparently, the talons were from a harpy eagle. They tried to figure out what was the reason why the guy had been able to absorb some of Scott’s power. Normally, the only person who could do that to Scott was a beta of his own making. Deaton started to realize that maybe the supernatural rules weren’t as strict as he thought, or someone was trying to change the rules.
Meanwhile, Stiles was stressin’ about Theo. There was something different about him. He’d already run a background check on him before school started. Malia told him to take it easy on Theo, but that only made things worse. She’d definitely taken notice on his great hair and perfect body. (Malia, I feel you.) Stiles had a hunch about the new guy. He wasn’t the same guy from fourth grade.
‘Teen Wolf’ Recap: First Day Of Senior Year
First official day of senior year had arrived. Boy, do I feel old. For Mason and Liam, it was just another FDOC. Mason was still trying to figure out who/what attacked him last season. Liam adorably pretended not to know what a berserker was.
The rest of the crew, sans Stiles, was kicking things off with AP biology. Scott was a bit overwhelmed. This was his last year to make something of himself. Academics didn’t really care that Scott had saved the town of Beacon Hills countless times and that he was a werewolf.
Instead of taking the day off, Tracy braved the first day of school. But she was having terrible visions. The black goo started dripping from a locker, and one of the Dread Doctors climbed out of it. WTF. This is Freddy Krueger scary. Was it a dream? Was it part reality?
Stiles wanted answers, and, boy, was he going to get them. Theo told Stiles and Scott how he’d gotten bitten. He was skateboarding alone in a neighbor’s empty pool. An alpha came out of nowhere and bit him. He’d never been a part of a pack because the alpha that bit him was killed by two of his own betas — TWIN BETAS. Looking at you, Ethan and Aiden. Theo swore up and down that he was legit. He wanted to join Scott’s pack. Scott told Stiles to take it easy on Theo. Those words went in one ear and out the other. Stiles still thought Theo was lying.
Meanwhile, Parrish and Lydia checked out Tracy’s room. I love how Lydia can just tag along on official police business. There was no signs of forced entry. However, when Parrish checked out the roof, he saw crazy marks and dozens of dead crows! Later, Parrish agreed to watch Tracy’s house. Lydia told him she’d stop by with some coffee. These two got their flirt on big time. I kind of loved it. (#Stydia for life, though.)
‘Teen Wolf’ Recap: Trust Issues
Stiles finally had a clue! He detected a noticeable difference between Theo’s dad’s signature from years ago to now. It couldn’t be the same person, Stiles thought. There was something shady going on. The gang still refused to believe him. Poor Stiles.
Stiles enlisted Liam as his sidekick in his investigation. As they followed Theo through the woods, Liam revealed some of his worry to Stiles. He still hadn’t told Mason about being a werewolf. “It’s always better when they know,” Stiles said, speaking for human best friends everywhere. Then Liam fell into a hole and spotted a random necklace. Weird. Liam and Stiles finally found Theo dropping flowers by the bridge where his sister died. They started running, but Theo caught up with them pretty quickly.
Theo asked why Stiles was so suspicious of him. Put him flat on the spot. “I came back here for Scott, but I also came back here for you, someone like you.” Theo wanted friends. He wanted to be a part of the gang. “I’m meant to be here. I’m meant to be a part of this pack.”
Stiles finally hit his limit. When Scott asked him again why he couldn’t trust Theo, Stiles screamed, “Because you trust everyone!” He crushed his hand in rage. Scott proved that Stiles was still his #1 bro when he healed his hand.
‘Teen Wolf’ Recap: Hammer Time
Parrish was keeping a watch on Tracy’s house but wasn’t doing a very good job. Tracy wandered in the middle of the road right behind Parrish’s car. Nice job. Lydia stopped by, and the pair continued to flirt. Is there anyone that Holland Roden doesn’t have chemistry with?!
Liam met up with Mason and tried to tell him his secret, but there was an actual wolf problem. They were chased inside the school, and that’s when Liam took charge. He scared the wolf off, and Mason saw the whole thing. It didn’t take Mason any time to figure out what Liam was. In a crazy turn of events, the wolf turned out to be Theo! WHAT?!
After wandering around, Tracy ended up at the Dread Doctors’ lair. They injected her with something. That needle, my god. Then she became a werewolf! Maybe? Color me confused.
Later, Stiles had another chat with his dad about Theo. If Stiles really thought Theo was guilty, his dad said Theo would eventually make a mistake. Theo had already made a mistake, rather his parents (or fake-parents). His “dad” had messed up the signatures, so Theo had to make things believable. He broke his dad’s fingers with hammer. YIKES. Well, it’s safe to say Theo isn’t going to Beacon Hills’ next hero. I knew he was too good to be true. I have a feeling Theo is full-on evil.
HollywoodLifers, what did you think of tonight’s Teen Wolf? Do you think Theo is evil? Do you want Parrish and Lydia to get together? Let me know!
