No, you’re crying. In this first trailer for ‘I Am Chris Farley,’ we get a taste of the devastating documentary about the late comedian’s life, and it will make you laugh and cry and everything in between.
It’s been nearly two decades since iconic comedian, Chris Farley, tragically passed away in 1997 at the age of 33, and his untimely death still looms in comedy and show business in a major way. In the new documentary, I Am Chris Farley, the Saturday Night Live star’s life will be explored, including his highest highs and his lowest lows. In this first trailer for the flick, which will hit theaters on July 31, we get just a glimpse of Chris’s far too brief but still incredible life and career. Check it out!
“Anytime you get to talk about Chris Farley is a good day,” one of the legend’s friends says in this trailer. The doc will feature interviews with several of the comedian’s friends, costars, and collaborators, alongside intermittent footage of his most iconic moments.
“When I walked through Chicago with him,” Adam Sandler says, “‘Oh my God, there’s Chris Farley, there’s Chris Farley, there’s Chris Farley.'” The boasting from big names does not stop there. Molly Shannon, David Spade and Bob Odenkirk are just a few of the stars who are on hand in the film to celebrate the ill-fated star.
Of course, darkness permeated Chris’s life, too, and when he died at the age of 33, he had sought treatment for addiction and obesity 17 times. “Success in show business does not always create the best version of people,” a commentator says.
“You can’t walk around being funny all the time,” Bob says. “You have to be yourself sometimes, and you have to be alone sometimes,” he adds.
