Don’t mess with Yeezy! When an overzealous fan jumped on stage in the middle of Kanye West’s performance, he stopped everything until security came and whisked the guy away. Click inside to WATCH!
Kanye West, 38, definitely does not like being interrupted. While performing for a huge crowd at the Glastonbury Music Festival on Saturday night, June 27, Kanye decided to stop rapping when he realized one fan had managed to get onstage. Although the fan seemed pretty harmless, Kanye still kept his distance and waited for security to clear the stage before starting over.
Whoops! This fan did not have the right idea when he thought crashing Kanye’s stage was a good idea. As you can see in the video above, Kanye is rapping “Black Skinhead” when he notices he’s not alone. The fan, wearing a white t-shirt, a backwards cap, and carrying a mic, rocks out just a few feet away from Kanye — but the rapper isn’t having any of it. He throws his hands up in confusion, then looks towards the back of the stage as if summoning security.
Once a giant security comes out, the fan goes willingly until they’ve both clear the stage. At that point Kanye had already stopped rapping all together, and as soon as he’s alone on stage again he asks the DJ to “start over.” Hey, at least the fans got an encore!
It was later revealed that the stage crasher was British comedian Simon Brodkin. After he was hauled off stage, he tweeted his reasoning for the stunt: “Some people were saying Kanye shouldn’t headline Glasto so I thought I’d give him a hand.”
The whole ordeal went down during the 4th song in Kanye’s headlining performance. Not only was Kim Kardashian in attendance, but so was her little sister, Kendall Jenner, and their friends Gigi Hadid and Cara Delevingne.
