PRAISE! The BET Awards are back! Every year, the BET Awards features incredible performances from some of our favorite artists. Take a look at our list of the top 10 performers of all time, and vote for your favorite!
No need to fret any longer — the BET Awards have arrived. With some of the biggest and best artists in the music industry getting ready to perform on June 28, HollywoodLife.com has decided to round up the 10 hottest performances, which includes Chris Brown, 26, Beyonce, 33, Drake, 28, and more!
Kanye’s always been an incredible performer, and he proved it at the 2004 BET Awards. The rapper, also known as Kim Kardashian’s husband, gave an electrifying performance of “Jesus Walks.” He brought down the house alongside Yolanda Adams. They took us to church — that’s for sure!
Long before Kid Rock’s feud with Beyonce, the rocker performed with Jay Z at the 2004 BET Awards. Jay’s rap song “99 Problems” is one of the best rap songs of all time, so hearing it up onstage was a real treat. Kid Rock jammed out while Jay Z gave a thrilling rendition of his hit song.
“Yeah!” was single-handedly the jam of the earlier ’00s. So it’s no surprise that Usher, Ludacris and Lil Jon performed their hit at the 2004 awards show. Their energetic performance of the song was unforgettable. Seriously, who didn’t dance to “Yeah!” in the club or on the middle school dance floor?
There’s nothing like a Destiny’s Child performance. In one of their last performances before they went solo, the group hit the BET Awards stage and gave an amazing performance of “Cater 2 U.” They looked gorgeous in sexy brown gowns. To make things even hotter, the girls brought up Terrence Howard, Nelly and Magic Johnson onstage for sexy lap dances! Yes, that really happened.
It’s time for some Bey and Jay! The power couple made us feel all sorts of feelings when they hit the stage to perform “Déjà Vu” in 2006. As expected, the two slayed the stage. Beyonce looked hot in a silver crop top and skirt. She danced like there was no tomorrow right in front ofJay Z. One thing’s for sure — you can’t beat a Jay Z and Beyonce performance. (But really, have you seen their performance from the 2003 awards?)
Sorry, there’s a lot of Beyonce on this list. Looking like a total goddess, Beyonce performed her club hit “Get Me Bodied.” The star was soon joined by fellow Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland and Eve to rock out to their song, “Like This.”
Man, Rihanna can put on quite a show. The singer took to the stage in 2008 and owned it. Rihanna belted out “Take A Bow” as Chris Brown watched. That’s how you know 2008 was a long time ago — this was the year that Chris and Rihanna first went public with their romance.
This. Was. Incredible. One year after Michael Jackson tragically passed away in 2009, Chris got the chance to honor his idol. He performed “Remember the Time,” “Smooth Criminal” and “Billie Jean.” However, when he started singing “Man in the Mirror,” Chris broke down. It was the most emotional performance we’ve ever seen from Chris.
Drake’s one of the biggest and best rappers in the business, and he showed off his skills in 2011 at the BET Awards. Along with Rick Ross, Lil Wayne and DJ Khaled, Drake rapped out his hit “I’m On One.” There’s no way you weren’t jamming out to this beat back in 2011.
Chris surprised everyone at last year’s ceremony when he hit the stage to perform “Loyal.” It was the singer’s first performance since being released from jail earlier in June 2014. He proved he still had what it takes to be amazing onstage. It was a big night for Chris; he even performed “I Luv This S**t” with August Alsina and Trey Songz. Chris is performing again this year, and we are so excited.
