Anthony Hamilton spoke to our neo-souls with his incredible performance of three different jazz and blues songs at the BET Awards. The R&B superstar won us over with his angelic voice and we can’t get enough!
Anthony Hamilton, 44, is a seasoned, platinum-selling R&B/soul artist, and after his performance at the 2015 BET Awards, it’s easy to see why. He gave the show of a lifetime on June 28 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, CA as he crooned a mashup of classic songs. The singer-songwriter, record producer and father is, without a doubt, one of our favorite triple threats!
Anthony served up a sweet, sultry performance of three different songs, honoring three late, great singers. First up was Percy Sledge‘s 1966 classic “When A Man Loves A Woman”, which Anthony did justice, thanks to his equally golden voice. Next was Ben E. King‘s crowd-pleaser, 1961’s, “Stand By Me”. Finally, Anthony brought the blues with the late B.B. King‘s 1951 hit, “The Thrill Is Gone”.
Anthony was a BET winner in 2006, when he took home the BET J Cool Like Dat Award. He’s also performed with Kanye West and 2Pac in past, but can definitely hold his own, as we saw tonight. If you’re dying for more, be sure to catch Anthony on tour — he’s got just a few dates left! You can buy tickets here. You won’t want to miss the smooth and sexy singer!
Other Standout Performances At The 2015 BET Awards
The BET Awards are notorious for its medley of awesome performers, and tonight brought us stellar dance numbers and joint performances. Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown were standouts, but Anthony definitely ranked up there as one of the best performances of the night!
