President Barack Obama, 53, brought a church full of mourning people to their feet with his surprise performance of “Amazing Grace.” The President gave a powerful eulogy at the funeral of Rev. Clementa Pinckney who was tragically killed during the mass shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in downtown Charleston, South Carolina on June 17, 2015. During his eulogy, President Obama truly stunned mourners when he began singing “Amazing Grace” for everyone.

Pinckney on Friday, June 26, President Obama gave a eulogy that will go down in history. The entire funeral was broadcast live on multiple news networks, as the people of Charleston, South Carolina continue to mourn those lost in the horrific mass shooting at their local church.
It was clear that President Obama was emotional as he spoke to the church, which was filled to the brim with mourners and supporters. However, it was towards the end of the eulogy that President Obama showed his softest side yet. He read the words “Amazing Grace,” and then repeated them. Finally, he sang the first words to the song, and the entire church quickly rose to their feet with applause. As President Obama continued to sing, the church joined him in what could be considered one of the most beautiful moments of his presidency.
