Whoa — what a game! The United States Women’s National Team went head to head against China in yet another thrilling match of the 2015 Women’s World Cup. Their face-off was definitely one for the books. In the end, USA beat China after an exciting duel!
The United States Women’s National Team has been slaying on the soccer field as they’ve been fighting for victories during the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Their hard work has certainly paid off, with three wins and a tie under their shinguards. Their latest conquest? A win against China on June 26, torching them with a 1-0 score. Get it, girls!
The United States Women’s National Team and China were tied 0-0 at the end of the first half of the game. Fans of both countries were biting their nails and gritting their teeth hoping for just one goal as it was anyone’s game at that point. Well, guess who delivered the first (and only!) score of the night? That’s right — our American girl, Carli Lloyd!
Carli became the game’s hero as she put in the extra elbow grease to take on the skilled and focused defense of her Chinese opponents — and scored a point to keep her USA teammates on top! After kicking China’s butt, USA is now 7 in 7 for making World Cup semifinals.
USA advanced to the quarterfinals of the Women’s World Cup with their 2-0 triumph over their bitter rival Colombia on June 22. Alex Morgan and Carli helped their team dominate the South American players with two very epic (think Bend It Like Beckham) goals — which brought them to their sovereignty over China tonight.
Prior to being defeated by the Americans, the Chinese soccer stars did put up a good fight. They beat Cameroon 1-0 in their quarterfinal match, won against the Netherlands — and tied against New Zealand in a goalless draw. While they didn’t make out tonight, we’ve got to give cheers to China for their successes so far.
