The 2015 BET Awards are just a few days away, and in honor of the entertaining awards show, we’re taking a look back at some of the most memorable celebrity appearances and red carpet shoes from previous years.
Time to break down the BET Awards best shoe moments (and most talked about drama) ahead of the 2015 show. This year, Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown, who lead the pack with six nominations each, are expected to stand out with their fashion choices, particularly during their performances. Check out their best moments below, then click through the gallery for more shoe moments.
Nicki and Chris are singlehandedly keeping the BET Awards in the headlines for their style choices and onstage antics. Last year, Nicki (known for her provocative looks) won Best Female Hip Hop Artist. During her acceptance speech, the rapper thanked BET for awarding a female artist who writes her own lyrics. “When you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it,” she said. The comment was widely publicized as being aimed at Iggy Azalea, who was nominated in the same category.
Also last year, Chris commanded the stage multiple times. Once wearing Nike Air Yeezy 2 Red Octobers, and for a second performance in Maison Martin Margiela 22 Hi sneakers. But Chris’ most memorable BET moment came in 2010 during his Michael Jackson tribute. The singer infamously broke down in tears while singing “Man In The Mirror.”
BET Awards Shoes — A Look Back At The Award Show’s Best Footwear
Beyoncé is the second-most-nominated artist this year. No word if she will be attending, but in years past, her shoe game has certainly been a standout. In 2009, she wore embellished Christian Dior Cha Cha sandals. If she makes a surprise appearance this year, we, for one, hope she brings them out of the woodwork.
Which celeb shoe choice was your favorite? Will you be tuning into the BET Awards on Sunday, HollywoodLifers?
