The truth is almost here! David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are closer than ever on the cover of the newest Entertainment Weekly, where they tease their upcoming X-Files reboot and the state of Mulder and Scully’s relationship.
David Duchovny, 54, and Gillian Anderson, 46, were featured on the cover of Entertainment Weekly in support of the return of their famous TV series The X-Files which premieres January, 2016. They teased the series revival and dropped a few tantalizing tidbits about what fans can expect from the upcoming series.
You can almost feel the sexual chemistry between the two stars, as they strike a provocative pose, with Gillian grabbing onto David’s tie while he places a protective hand on her arm. They spoke about the new season which is built around their investigation of an alleged alien abuctee, to be played by The Americans Annet Mahendru. “Mulder’s not in a great place, he’s wearing bad jeans, so you can just extrapolate from my wardrobe. He’s in a dark, dark place,” David told the magazine. The sexual tension and the “will they or won’t they” dynamic between David’s Fox Mulder and Gillian’s Dana Scully have always been intriguing to fans and Gillian teased what could be expected of their upcoming relationship “I like where we find Mulder and Scully in their relationship,” is all she would say. Well if they are as close on the show as they are on the cover, then we expect fireworks.
Earlier, Dana spoke about what it’s like to bring back a character she hasn’t played in almost seven years. “It feels like it’s been a long time since I’ve played her,” Gillian told our sister site TV Line. “I can’t remember what year the movie was, but it felt like [Scully] was further away from me than I’d thought she would be. But I’ve also worked really hard at putting her entirely to sleep, so that was successful; she’s just taken longer to wake up.”
