Oh no! Shia LaBeouf was sent to the hospital on June 24 after suffering a bloody head injury on the set of his movie ‘American Honey.’ And his injuries sound pretty bad!
Shia LaBeouf, 29, is really leaving it all on the table while filming American Honey! Things got so intense on set, that the actor was even hospitalized after performing a stunt on June 24. Get the details on what happened right here!
Okay, first of all, Shia fans, breathe easy — he’s totally okay! However, the incident does appear to have been pretty serious, considering Shia needed 20 stitches and 13 staples on his head and finger, according to TMZ. Scarily, something went wrong when the former Disney star was filming a stunt scene, which caused the injuries.
For the action sequence, Shia had to smash his head through a glass window, which is what caused the bloody accident. The contusions are reportedly located on the left side of his head and right index finger, and luckily, he was able to head home after being bandaged up.
As of now, Shia is still scheduled to resume filming on American Honey on June 25. The movie tells the story of a runaway teenager who is selling magazine subscriptions, but gets caught up in a romance filled with hard-partying and law-bending. Hmm…so it seems like the film might feature some debauchery — maybe Shia’s injuries will fit right in!
After his strange year in 2014 (you can’t forget when he wore a paper bag on his head, and got arrested for disrupting a Broadway show!) it’s great to see Shia focusing on work again. We hope he’s doing okay after the accident, and can’t wait to see American Honey when it hits theaters in 2016!
