Not good! After news broke of Josh Duggar’s molestation scandal, the ’19 Kids & Counting’ star’s family members are worried sick that he will do something ‘drastic’ after all the hate he’s had thrown his way — according to a new report.
It’s hard to remember a day when the now-infamous Duggars weren’t plagued with scandal. TLC’s First Family can’t catch a break this year after it was revealed that Josh Duggar, 27, inappropriately touched young girls, two of them being his little sisters Jessa Duggar, 22, and Jill Duggar, 24 — back when he was a teenager. Now the pressure seems to be crushing in on Josh, as his relatives fear he could end up hurting himself in the wake of all the backlash — allegedly. Yikes!
The amount of public shame Josh has been forced to face must truly be unbearable. In addition to feeling incredibly disgraced, the father-of-three’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, and 18 siblings are concerned that he could be suicidal as well, claims the July 6 issue of Star magazine.
“Josh has seen his world and his family’s world crumble,” a source tells the outlet. “And he knows that it’s all his fault. He can never rebound himself from this. He is hiding away leaving his loved ones fearing the worst, [that] he will do something drastic.”
During this trying time for Josh, his family is making sure to keep a close eye on him to ensure that he doesn’t harm himself. “The longer he stays isolated, the more depressed he gets — that has his loved ones terrified for him,” explains the mag’s insider. “They fear that shame is too much.” So sad!
While Josh is obviously having a hard time coming to terms with what he did, his victims (and sisters!) Jessa and Jill have somehow found forgiveness for their older brother. As the public continues to bash Josh, the Duggar girls have done their best to move on, brushing his past actions under the rug.
“Victims of this kind of abuse carry a lot guilt and shame that they somehow have some responsibility in what happened to them,” family therapist Steve Ornstein EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife.com, explaining why it seems like the reality TV clan is dismissing Josh’s sexual assault as if it was nothing. Luckily for Josh, it’s certainly clear that his family has his back no matter what.
