We’ve been waiting years for Luann de Lesseps to come out with a new song, and it’s finally here! The ‘Real Housewives of New York City’ star performed her new track, ‘Girl Code: (Don’t Be So Uncool),’ on the June 23 episode of ‘WWHL.’ Listen to it here!
Watch out, Selena Gomez, Luann de Lesseps is hoping her new song, “Girl Code: Don’t Be So Uncool,” will top the charts after its June 23 release on Watch What Happens Live. We love Sel’s new track, “Good For You,” which is currently sitting pretty in the number one spot on iTunes, but the Real Housewives of New York City star has a real hit on her hands! Everyone on the charts should be super worried.
Luann released the new track with a performance, featuring her daughter Victoria, in front of Andy Cohen on WWHL, as she felt Gay Pride Week would be the best time to do so. And if you think Luann might be calling someone out with this new song, you’re right. Not only is the title inspired by Luann’s famous line, “Be cool. Don’t be all, like, uncool,” from the current season of RHONY, but a fellow housewife also had something to do with the title and lyrics. Watch the performance above!
“The song is inspired by Carole Radziwill stealing and dating her niece’s ex behind her back,” a source close to the reality star tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. Shady! We wonder how Carole will feel about this.
If you don’t recall, Carole met Luann’s young chef, Adam Kenworthy, during an early episode of this current season. They flirted and quickly hit it off, even though Adam is Luann’s niece’s ex. Carole kept her romance with Adam a secret for quite some time before telling Luann, and Luann wasn’t too happy about it. In fact, she no longer seems to be a fan of Carole all that much.
Luann is also upset that her friends didn’t have her back in this situation, so the song is also about them. “I’m just talking in general how friends have to look out for each other…and in this case they really didn’t have my back,” she told E! News.
RHONY stars Kristen Taekman and Luann were at Foxwoods Resort Casino for “Housewives Weekend” between June 12 and June 14, which is when LuAnn, 50, first dished to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY about how she had new music coming out “soon.” Well, it’s finally here, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the final product. It’s a perfect summer jam!
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Are you a fan of Luann’s new song? Vote in our poll and tell us how you feel!
