“Rene and I are deeply saddened by the tragic death of James Horner,” Celine Dion, 47, wrote on her website following the tragic news of James’ passing. “He will always remain a great composer in our hearts. James played an important part in my career. We will miss him. We offer his family and friends our deepest sympathy.” Celine and James shared a personal connection as she was the voice behind Titanic’s song, “My Heart Will Go On,” which sold over 27 million copies.
Celine isn’t the only one who shared her thoughts on the sad news. “I am so sad to hear about James Horner. He composed the most beautiful soundtrack of all time…,” Ellie Goulding, 28, expressed on Twitter including a link to the Braveheart soundtrack. Braveheart was just one of his many powerful projects that he worked on through the years, which was also nominated for an Oscar in 1995.
