Good for YOU, Selena Gomez! The pop princess has taken her seat on the musical throne, stealing the number one spot on iTunes with her sexy new single ‘Good For You’ — and surpassing her bestie Taylor Swift’s ‘Bad Blood’ in the process!
Move over, Taylor Swift — Selena Gomez has taken over! It’s been less than 24 hours since Selena, 22, dropped her hot new single “Good For You” on iTunes on June 22, and it’s already making massive waves on the music charts. Selena quickly climbed the charts after fans fell in love with her edgy new sound so much, that it’s pushed Taylor, 25, down a few spots!
It’s Selena’s turn to shine — and honestly, she deserves it! “Good For You” quickly made its way into iTunes’ top five songs in the morning of its release, right behind Taylor’s “Bad Blood”, Rachel Platten‘s “Fight Song” and Omi‘s “Cheerleader.” However, it didn’t take long for Selena to surpass Taylor, and even the other songs! By the afternoon of the songs release, Selena’s song became number one on iTunes. Amazing!
While Selena and Taylor are BFFs, it’s a pretty high honor to beat out Tay, who is arguably the most successful female pop artists today. We’re sure Taylor would be proud of Selena — especially because Taylor has already been vocal about how obsessed she is with Sel’s new song. We are too! Fans freaked out over Selena’s collaboration with A$AP Rocky, 26, where she sings about a sexy romance while debuting a more “adult sound”. Plus, it has a personal touch since she wrote it with Justin Bieber in mind!
If Selena’s song is doing this well, we can only imagine the music video will blow up when it’s finally unleashed! Sel revealed the first music video teaser for the song and it’s almost too sexy to handle. Fitting with the song’s moody vibe, gorgeous Selena lies on the floor in distressed jeans and white tee, before she ends up on a green couch wearing a sultry low-cut robe and singing her soul to the camera.
