Lady Gaga will make her official acting debut in ‘American Horror Story: Hotel,’ but that doesn’t mean she won’t sing at all right? Right? Ryan Murphy revealed some serious scoop!
We are slowly starting to learn a little bit more about American Horror Story: Hotel, which will debut on FX at some point in October. However, most of the elements regarding Lady Gaga‘s character have been kept pretty tightly under wraps– until now! Series creator, Ryan Murphy, is spilling some deets on Gaga’s role, including whether or not we’ll hear those glorious pipes of hers on the horrific new season. Check out what he had to say!
“People, keep saying to me, ‘What numbers are they singing, what numbers are they singing?'” Ryan revealed to our sister site, Deadline. “There will be no numbers… The interesting thing is we cast a lot of singers this season, but I like that singers – for the most part – [tend to be] great actors, because they know how to sell a story through song.”
So we really won’t hear Gaga sing on Hotel? Not even one minuscule verse of “Poker Face?” Well, we’ll have to digest that a little, but according to Ryan, we won’t even miss Gaga’s singing because her acting is going to crush it so hard. “I’m excited about that and I think that’s why Gaga was excited about it; it’s not something that she’s ever done before. It’s a pure acting part.”
Ryan also revealed a bit about the show itself, saying this season is “much more horror-based,” as well as “a little bloodier and grislier, I think, than anything we’ve done before. It’s straight horror this year.”
In other words, is it October yet? Because we kinda can’t wait another day for this thing to start, let alone more than three months!
Are you upset that Lady Gaga won’t be singing on AHS? Do you think she’ll pull through as just an actress?
