Whoa! President Barack Obama really said that! During his interview with Marc Maron on the June 22 episode of the ‘WTF’ podcast, the leader of the free world decided to get real — by dropping the N-word!
Talk about keeping it 100! President Barack Obama, 53, decided to go there while talking with comedian Marc Maron, 51, on Marc’s podcast, WTF. As Marc and Barack discussed racism in America, just days after the Charleston Church Shooting, the President of the United States casually said the N-word! For real!
Marc scored one of his highest profile guests when the President of the United States sat down with him in his Highland Park, California home on June 19. During the conversation, which was released on the June 22 episode of WTF, the two talked gun control and racism in the wake of the Charleston Church Shooting. And no – your ears aren’t fooling you. During the conversation, Obama got real by dropping the n-word!
“The legacy of slavery, Jim Crow, discrimination in almost every institution of our lives — that cast’s a long shadow, and that’s still part of our DNA that’s passed on….It’s not just a matter of it not being police to say N**** in public. That’s not the measure of whether racism exists or not.”
WOW. While Barack was using it to emphasize a point, the current President of the United States said the N-word in an interview! That’s shocking! However, before Barack dropped the N-bomb, he made sure to clarify his thoughts on how race relations in this country have come a long way:
“I always tell young people in particular — Do not say that’s nothing’s changed when it comes to race in America, unless you lived through being a black man in the 1950’s or 60’s or 70’s. It is incontrovertible that race relations have improved during my lifetime and yours.”
The President did make it clear that though things have gotten better, they still have a long way to go before racism is no longer a problem in the country. Listen to Marc’s full interview with Barack Obama by clicking here.
President Obama spoke about the Charleston Church Shooting when the shooter, Dylann Roof, was apprehended on June 18. “There is something particularly heartbreaking about death happening in a place in which we seek solace,” the President said, adding, “This is not the first time that black churches have been attacked. And we know that hatred across races and faiths pose a particular threat to our democracy and our ideals.”
