Are you familiar with YouTube superstar Gigi Gorgeous? If not, it’s about time! The inspirational beauty recently stopped by the HollywoodLife podcast and opened up about transitioning in the public eye and her feelings about Caitlyn Jenner’s brave decision to do the same.
Gigi Gorgeous, 23, found true happiness in life when she reached a certain point of thinking, “I’ll do me and I don’t care what everybody thinks.” She told us that watching Caitlyn Jenner, 65, come out to the world as transgender was “cathartic” to her and that she saw herself in Caitlyn’s eyes while watching her Diane Sawyer interview — listen to the full, inspiring interview on our HollywoodLife.com Podcast!
Gigi gave us an open and honest look inside her journey of transitioning online in front of millions of subscribers. She talked about knowing she was trans early on in life saying, “It’s something inside of you. I think we heard it from Caitlyn Jenner recently. She could not hold the door anymore. I was dying to get out of my body. I can’t imagine what she was going through. Now I’m so happy it’s totally worth it.”
For a while, Gigi identified as a gay male on her YouTube channel, but she told us that she always knew deep down that she was a woman. “I did. I just never knew how to go about it. I want to keep everybody happy around me. I don’t want to get into confrontations or fight. I was trying to be a people pleaser for too long. Then I thought EFF it, I’ll do me and I don’t care what everybody thinks. I reached that point.”
After watching Caitlyn Jenner’s Diane Sawyer interview, Gigi was inspired to make a video on her thoughts, which has hit 2 million views AND was tweeted out by Kylie Jenner! “It was cathartic for me,” Gigi told us. “I was watching the TV and I’m looking in her eyes and seeing myself. It’s crazy to hear her speak it from her mouth. It was all so real for me. That’s why I made the video. I was very passionate,” she said.
