Two of Hollywood’s biggest and best actors starring in a movie together? Yes, please! Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt are heading to outer space in the upcoming romance, ‘Passengers.’ Find out all the details on what will likely be everyone’s favorite movie of 2016.
Move over, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. There’s a new romantic duo who is going to be stealing our hearts in an epic love story for the ages. Jennifer Lawrence, 24, and Chris Pratt, 35, are set to star in Passengers, a sci-fi drama in which they’ll play love interests. Given their impressive acting skills, Chris and JLaw’s chemistry is going to be out of this world (literally).
After major behind-the-scenes negotiations, Passengers is a go. America’s sweethearts, Jennifer and Chris, will be teaming up in Passengers. In the realm of Gravity and Interstellar, this epic drama will take place in outer space. The synopsis, courtesy of IMDB, is very intriguing and has us already wanting to buy our tickets. Read it below:
“A spacecraft is transporting thousands of people to a distant colony planet that has a malfunction in one of its sleep chambers. As a result, a single passenger is awakened 90 years before anyone else. Faced with the prospect of growing old and dying alone, he eventually decides to wake up a second passenger.”
Okay, we’re just going to say it: This movie sounds amazing. Talk about casting perfection. Taking two of our favorite movie stars and pairing them together is just plain genius. What’s also incredible is the salary these two stars are getting for the film. Jennifer will reportedly nab $20 million for Passengers while Chris will receive $12 million. Whoa.
Chris is going to be a busy man this year. Passengers is set to start filming in September, and he’ll likely be gearing up for the Jurassic World sequel sometime after that. After a monster opening at the box office, everyone is anxiously awaiting Jurassic‘s sequel and asking if the main stars will returning.
Well, Chris has confirmed he’ll be back! “I am,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “They have me for I think 38 movies or something.”
Sounds like a plan, Chris! The end of Jurassic World left things open for a potential sequel, and we’re excited to see where the sequel goes next. Not going to lie, we’d love to have 38 Jurassic World movies starring Chris. (Don’t lie. You know you’d watch them, too.)
HollywoodLifers, what do you think about Chris and Jennifer’s new movie? Do you think it’s the next big love story? Let us know!
