Well, he is Cleveland’s pride and joy! In the upcoming comedy ‘Trainwreck,’ LeBron James will have a starring role playing (what else?) himself– and he’s using his time onscreen to spread some Ohio goodwill. Watch the hilarious clip now!
In Trainwreck, which will hit theaters on July 17, Amy Schumer will fall for a sports medicine doctor, played by Bill Hader. However, it looks like LeBron James, who will have a pretty significant role in the movie playing Bill’s best friend, might steal the show! In this hysterical sneak peek at the movie, LeBron and Bill find themselves at odds over, of course, Cleveland. Hey, Bill certainly isn’t the first person to have some words with LeBron about C-Town!
While Bill is discussing his budding relationship with a girl (whom we can perhaps assume is Amy), LeBron decides to relate the current situation to something he knows. “You need to focus if you want to take it to the next level,” he says. “It’s like when I lost the championship in 2011, I worked on my game twice as hard. I worked on my post up game, and we wound up winning the championship. Twice.”
Uh. Perhaps LeBron is sorta missing the point. “I don’t feel like that applies to me, but I appreciate the thought,” Bill responds. Obviously, though, that doesn’t stop him from driving his point home.
“It’s like when I decided to go back to Cleveland,” LeBron continues. “I wasn’t totally sure they were gonna welcome me back, but they did. They welcomed me back with open arms, and open heart.”
“Again, I think that applies more to you,” Bill tells him. “I don’t even live in Cleveland.” With that, LeBron gets pretty defensive and launches into what could only be referred to as a pro-Cleveland rant. We get it, LeBron. You like Cleveland.
Are you guys excited to see LeBron in Trainwreck?
