Before ‘Finding Carter’ wrapped for hiatus, we were left with a massive shocker regarding, well, you know. Obviously we have to wonder what it means going forward. We’ve got season two spoilers!
Spoilers ahead! On the June 16 mid-season finale of Finding Carter, we were introduced to Ben, who blew our minds by claiming to be the son of Lori Stevens (Milena Govich) and David Wilson (Alexis Denisof). We know, insanity. While we have to wait a while for the series to return to MTV with new episodes, we don’t have to wait quite that long for some spoilers! Particularly, how Ben’s new presence might affect David and his marriage, and why the truth has come out now!
It was the paternity shocker heard ’round the world. Well, our world anyway. While we continue to grapple with what Lori and David’s alleged son will mean for the second season of the series, we have a ton of questions. For starters, did Lori know who Ben’s father was? And why did the truth finally come out?
“These questions will be answered very early on in the next sequence of episodes,” series executive producer Emily Whitesell told our sister site TV Line. “But [Ben] didn’t know. He was subpoenad. They’d been looking for him for a very long time, and Lori will claim she’d been looking for him for years, so he’ll have his own resentments about everything.”
Emily elaborated that Ben won’t be the only one with hard feelings about the whole situation. Specifically, David’s wife, Elizabeth (Cynthia Watros) will deal with some resentment of her own. “Elizabeth knows what to be supportive about and what not to be; we’re not going to rehash the ‘Oh, you slept with her’ thing,” said Emily. “We’ve played that out extensively. But she’ll have feelings about what he should do, and we’ll see she’s resentful of certain things, but I don’t think we’re going to play anymore ‘How could you have done this?’ stuff.”
What did you guys think of the finale of Finding Carter? How ’bout that Ben shocker?
