‘5 Seconds Of Summer’s Michael Clifford Burned During Concert — Scary Video

Oh, no! During ‘5 Seconds of Summer’s London concert on June 13, guitarist Michael Clifford caught on fire and burned himself when he accidentally walked into a pyrotechnics display on-stage. Click to WATCH the frightening video.

Poor Michael Clifford. 5 Seconds of Summer’s June 13 London concert didn’t end so well for him. As the band was performing, the 19-year-old walked into a pyrotechnics display. The guitarist suffered burns to his head, and he immediately ran off stage to receive help. The band’s concert was cut short due to the scary mishap.


The band was performing their mega hit “She Looks So Perfect” at London’s Wembley Arena when the shocking incident occurred. Michael was jamming out on his guitar and walked a little too closely to a fiery on-stage display –and his hair caught on fire!

A video of the accident shows Michael jumping as the fire claimed the left side of his head. The guitarist immediately ran off the stage to grab a towel. So scary! In addition to the video above, here is a side view of the accident:

Later, fellow bandmate Ashton Irwin took to the stage to reveal that the concert was being cut short as a result of Michael’s accident. “Michael has hurt himself so we will not be continuing the show right now,” Ashton said. “Just want to say thank you so much for coming. He is OK. You guys have been the best crowd we could ask for tonight. Thank you so much.”

Michael also tweeted a photo of himself with bandages covering the left side of his face. After “GETWELLSOONMICHAEL” began trending on Twitter, Michael made sure to let his fans know that he was OK.

5 Seconds Of Summer: All About Their Hot Summer Tour

The band is currently on the European leg of their “Rock Out With Your Socks Out” tour. Their last European show will be in London on June 14. The boys will move on to Australia and New Zealand at the end of June, according to their website.

5 Seconds of Summer will kick off the North American leg of their tour in mid-July. They’ll be hitting all the major cities in the United States and Canada, making girls swoon one song at a time. Let’s hope the boys don’t have to deal with another scary accident on-stage!
