It’s every little girl’s dream to be in the presence of an actual queen. Well, one six-year-old had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet Queen Elizabeth II. All went smoothly up until Maisie Gregory delighted the royal with a polite curtsy. Click to watch what happens!
Maisie Gregory of Cardiff, 6, was more than excited to meet Queen Elizabeth II on June 11. She played her part perfectly when she encountered the great grandmother of Prince George and Princess Charlotte. But what happened at the end was out of her “hands.” You’ll understand our pun after the jump!
You had one job soldier! While a sweet little Maisie stood patiently for her chance to present the queen of England with flowers, you couldn’t help but adore her. That’s what happens, you get invested in a character and then when they feel pain — you do as well.
Well, that was the case for us this time. In clip, you see Maisie sweetly greeting Queen Elizabeth II with a lavish bouquet of vibrant flowers. She’s absolutely beaming with delight at her once-in-a-lifetime moment.
Then as her majesty begins to exit the room, the very polite Maisie begins to curtsy as a farewell to the queen. But she made the mistake of letting her guard down, because she immediately gets a giant smack in the face by a soldier standing next to her. He fiercely pulled his hand up to salute the royal, but wound up taking out the tiny blonde in the process. You then hear Maisie quietly say “Ow!”
Let us repeat — you had ONE job soldier! But don’t worry, Maisie’s mom, Joanne Gregory told Wales Online that the soldier immediately apologized and Maisie is A-OK.
The original clip, was posted to Twitter on June 11 from a different angle by a Wales reporter.
