This is really happening! J.K. Rowling– excuse us– Robert Galbraith, has just revealed both the title and the cover of her next book, and we’ve got it for you right here!
For those who may not know, Harry Potter scribe J.K. Rowling also publishes under a not-so-secret alias, Robert Galbraith. The throwback move is just another of the superstar author’s methods of generating intrigue (the other being the most compelling storytelling, like, ever). For her/Robert’s latest installment, which will hit shelves on Oct. 20, J.K. has just released both the cover and title– and we could not be more excited!
And the title of J.K.’s new big is– drum roll please– Career of Evil. The book will be the third in her series of Coroman Strike novels, following the previous two, The Cuckoo’s Calling and The Silkworm.
In Career of Evil, according to Entertainment Weekly, Robin Ellacott is mailed a strange package—which just so happens to contain a woman’s severed leg. Private detective Cormoran Strike, Robin’s boss, is slightly less shocked by the contents, and has four possible suspects from his past in mind. As the police tread down a path Strike knows is wrong, he and Robin must investigate the remaining men, all of whom could be capable of such horrific brutality—before even more terrible acts occur.
The release of the book’s title and cover is just the latest bit of excitement J.K. has unleashed upon the world. Recently, she also fessed up about the much-discussed possibility of an American Hogwarts, and made all of our North American Muggle dreams come true by confirming that there is, indeed, a U.S. school of witchcraft and wizardry.
What do you think of the title and cover of Career of Evil? Are you excited for the new book?
