It’s no secret that ‘Fashion Police’ has struggled ever since the tragic death of its star, Joan Rivers. The show will pick up again at the end of summer and a new report claims they have finally found the perfect person take over for Joan — her daughter, Melissa Rivers.
Nobody could ever replace the talented Joan Rivers on Fashion Police, but as a tribute to her mom, Melissa Rivers will reportedly take over as panel moderator when the popular E! show resumes taping on August 31 — find out more!
“Melissa’s going on,” an inside source told Confidenti@l. “She is so happy, she is excited. The idea actually came from her. The bosses like it. It’ll be a tribute to her mom, and Melissa’s the one who understands how it’s done. She can pull it off.” Melissa has signed on for six shows, according to the insider but it is not clear when those shows will air.
As for the other hosts for this upcoming season, there will reportedly be a rotating crew of celebrities from L.A. and New York.”They will rotate celebs every episode,” the source said. “They are talking to Wendy Williams and they really want her. Melissa loves her and Wendy is very interested.”
Melissa staying beyond the six-show commitment will depend on the ratings, according to the insider. The show was never the same after Joan’s sudden death in September 2014. Kathy Griffin originally took over for Joan, but she ended up quitting. Kelly Osbourne, who got into a huge fight with Giuliana Rancic, also quit. Hopefully, Melissa will bring the show back to where it was at its height.
