She has such a way with words! Amy Poehler voices one of the characters in the upcoming Pixar film, ‘Inside Out,’ and she guarantees you will have a, um, visceral reaction to the emotional flick!
Anyone who’s human has found themselves crying in the dark while watching a Pixar movie (hello, Up). Amy Poehler, who will bring to life one of the characters in the latest Pixar creation Inside Out, guarantees that the zany movie will definitely hold up that longstanding tradition of tears. In fact, when she stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live on June 9, she said of the film, which hits theaters on June 19, that it will make you “cry your balls off!” Talk about a ringing endorsement!
“They’re always great movies,” Jimmy Kimmel says of Pixar, after previewing Inside Out.
“It’s a really great movie,” Amy assures him. “It’s beautiful and really deep, and sad and really funny. It is so sad– you are gonna cry your balls off!”
Well, who wouldn’t want to cry their balls off? Jimmy then breaks down the stages of viewing a Pixar movie, which we all are probably a bit too familiar with. “You go and you’re like, ‘oh this is fun, this is cute,'” he says. “And then it’s like, ‘oh there’s a tear, and I don’t want anyone to see it ’cause it’s a cartoon.'”
Hey, if there’s one thing that we’ve all learned from Pixar at this point, there ain’t no shame in feeling the feelings. Amy further vouched for why Pixar is so good at bringing out the unexpected waterworks. “They’re creative geniuses, they take risks, they don’t rush things, they work together,” she said. “It’s kind of like a utopian society, which, I’ve drank the Kool-Aid– and I wanna live there!” Uh, likewise, Amy!
